How to Choose the Best Stunt Scooter for the Rider
1. Measure the rider before comparing brands
Have the rider stand in normal shoes with shoulders relaxed and elbows slightly bent. Ask them to hold their hands where a comfortable grip would sit, usually around the hip-to-waist area for many stunt riders. Measure from the ground to that hand position. Then compare it with the complete scooter’s total height, not just the raw bar height.
Total height includes the wheel, deck, headset, fork, and bar position. A 24-inch bar does not produce a 24-inch complete. Brands may measure bars from different points, so ground-to-grip height is the most useful complete-to-complete comparison when published.
Personal preference shifts as skills develop. Some park riders prefer slightly lower bars for leverage and rotations; some street riders prefer taller bars for an upright stance. “Lower” and “taller” still need boundaries. Bars that pull the rider into a deep hunch or strike the body during steering are not a smart growth plan.
2. Count deck width, length, and usable foot space
